More Norah quotes!

The other night Norah was playing with her "injas." She has two small plastic ninjas she got from the toy basket when she passed a swimming level a while back, and occasionally she takes them out and plays with them. (I assume they're plastic; toys are often made from a material that could be a space-age polymer, for all I know.) At one point, one inja said to another that "We may have to take the scroll by force." That's exactly what she said. I have no idea what scroll they were trying to get or why they needed to take it by force, but that's all I could hear clearly before she ran off to play in a different part of the house. A few minutes later she told us that she was playing with her "injas."

Then, the other morning, she went into our bathroom and started dancing, telling Krys she was "shaking [her] booty." She enjoys shaking her booty, I must say. Krys asked her why she was shaking her booty, and she said, "Because it freaks people out." I'm not sure how it freaks people out and I very much doubt that it does, but it was pretty funny that she thinks so.

So, to recap: Norah enjoys playing with "injas," who need to use force to secure a scroll, and she enjoys freaking people out with her apparently hypnotic dancing. Who knew?

Norah engages in typical holiday-type activities!

At the end of the calendar year, we get a couple of different things with re: Norah. First, she has a little dance recital for Little Gym. Second, she sings with her kindergarten class. I should have video footage of these two events up soon enough, but it takes forEVER to upload video footage, so I figured I'd post some pictures in the interim. She danced well, as she's been dancing for a while so she's gotten pretty good at it and isn't terribly shy anymore. Her class sang two songs: a pro-school version of "Jingle Bells" and something about getting a rhinoceros for Christmas, which was pretty danged funny. A good time was had by all!

Both events work better with motion and sound. It's coming, I promise!

Mia rides a bike!

Last year, we bought Mia a bicycle. Unfortunately, she was still recovering from hip surgery, so it wasn't really feasible for her to ride it. This year, however, she's been able to ride it a bit, and while we haven't been putting her on it as much as we'd like, she's been out on it a little bit, and it seems to help her get her legs moving. The pedals move when you pull it along, so she has no choice but to move her legs (as her feet are strapped to the pedals). She actually seems to enjoy it, although she doesn't like to go on it for very long. I thought I'd post some pictures of her!

In case anyone is still reading, I have a bunch of Christmas pictures to post, so this week ought to be busy. My parents have come and gone, the kids are going back to school, so I have no distractions!
